Goals

So it is almost time to start this challenge. Here is the points system for September:

-Level 1 is just stuff that gets you moving more. If you take the stairs that's a point. Wash your car, that's another. You can get creative with this (within reason)

-Level 2 is stuff that is a like exercise, but not full intensity. Going on a walk - 2 points. Playing in the park, another 2 points. this should be for about a half hour of activity. so if you play in the park for an hour, 4 points.

-Level 3 is intense exercise. Running for 30 mintutes, 3 points. Biking for thirty minutes, 3 points. Running for an hour (if you're crazy enough to do that) 6 points.

-Fruits and Veggies if you eat 5 fruits or vegetables that's one point.

We may have to adjust the point system as we go, but remember why you are doing this. This is to be more active. It is not a rigid point system. If you feel you earned it, give yourself the points.

With the point system in place, now you need to come up with a goal. The first month might be hard to figure out, but try to set one that pushes you. Then open the Google doc and the first tab will have a percentage in column F. Edit the cell and change the 1 to your goal.

Then to input your activities, go to your tab and enter them into the appropriate column as the number of points you earned. so if you ran for 30 minutes give yourself 3 points in that column. You can combine a days worth of points into one row if you'd like. If you ate 5 fruits and ran for 30 minutes and took the stairs you would put a 1 in column B, 3 in column D and 1 in column E. The total tab will calulate the percentage completed toward your goal. You can seperate each row into seperate activities as well.

I hope you guys have fun with this. I think it will be good for all of us. If you have any questions about how to input your goal or points let me know.

  2. i am with LuAnn. I am spread sheet challenged. It may take me the entire month to even figure out what to do. I also got a bit depressed and haven't wanted to eat, exercise. Not sure if this month will be my best.

  3. Well, I really am a complete idiot. After 1/2 hour of trying to figure this out I completely messed up Bens and my formula under the total points. I really have never used a spread sheet except in one class 10 years ago in college. Help!! I messed it all up. Sorry.

  4. Ok, I fixed mine, but Ben's formula is completely gone. I am not sure he will even make the time to update or anything anyway, but I am not going to spend the time to figure out how to put his formula in when I think someone else could do it in a millasecond and I am sure it will take me another half hour. ha ha.
